Frequently asked questions
Do you have questions about the safety rules due to Corona?
Q: Is the Museon suitable for children under 6 years?
A: Children under the age of 6 just need a little more explanation from their parents or supervisors, but most of the time they find it very exciting and fascinating in the Museon.
Q: Do you also have quests for children?
A: Yes, for the exhibition One Planet we have a quest that will guide you through the exhibition.
At the Music! exhibition you can do a kind of 'challenge'. This time no questions, but challenges / assignments to do with the whole family. You can find them in the exhibition next to the car in the yellow boxes. Take a quest with you and when you're done, you can hand in the sheet at the exit near the shop or next to the stairs upstairs in one of the other yellow boxes.
Q: I am planning to come to the Museon with children. About how long does a visit take?
A: Of course it depends on what you want to do and how old the children are. If you only come for the temporary exhibitions, a visit takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. If you also want to see the permanent exhibition or participate in the activities, you can plan about 2 to 3 hours. But there are also visitors who don't have enough after 4 hours :-)
Many visitors combine a Museon visit with a film in Omniversum.
Q: We would like to visit the Museon and Omniversum. Is it possible to temporarily interrupt the visit to the Museon for a film in the Omniversum and then re-enter the Museon again with the same ticket?
A: Yes, that is possible, the combi card is valid for one day. Perhaps it is useful to pass on at the desk that you want to come back after the film. During weekends and school holidays, you can only buy tickets at the Omniversum ticket office. This is recommended anyway, because of the reservation of a certain film.
Q: Can I buy a "Museumkaart" at the Museon?
A: Yes, you can. A card costs € 64.90 for adults and € 32.45 for children and young people up to the age of 18 (including € 4.95 one-off administration costs). You will then receive a temporary card, which is immediately valid. Via www.museumkaart.nl/registreren you must register the card within 31 days. For more information, please visit www.museumkaart.nl
Q: Is the Museon accessible with a wheelchair?
A: The Museon is easily accessible for wheelchairs. Please use the main entrance to the Museon, because the entrance through the garden of the Kunstmuseum is not suitable for wheelchairs. For each wheelchair user, one companion can enter the museum free of charge. There are 2 wheelchairs available in the Museon (for free). These can be reserved during opening hours via tel. 070-3381355.
Q: Can I take my dog to the Museon?
A: No, only certified assistance dogs are allowed to go to the Museon.
Q: Can I take pictures in the Museon?
A: Yes you can, but only without flashlight (in connection with the preservation of the collection).
Q: Is there parking near the Museon?
A: Yes, around the Museon is the possibility to park on the street, this costs € 2.- per hour (from 13:00 h). You can also park in the parking garage of the World Forum. We sell exit tickets for € 7,50 for entrance A of this parking garage (not for entrance B). From the parking garage it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the Museon.
