Cypraea pantherini

In the Middle Ages from there this type of shell is a proof of trade between the Arabic region and Western Europe. In large parts of the Netherlands, the soil is too acidic for the preservation of this kind of objects, that therefore are quite rare. However in the dwelling hill it was well preserved.

The Cypraea pantherini is part of the One Planet exhibition and can be seen in the showcase about fertility, pregnancy and birth.
