Dear reader,

If you're planning to visit Museon on your Christmas holiday, make sure to use below discount voucher. Enjoy your visit and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

Near the Museon cash desk you will now find a showcase with some very special objects from the 'Sand Engine' (Zandmotor). On this artificial peninsula sand is not the only thing you will come across. If you look carefully, you will also find bones and tools that existed tens of thousands of years ago. At Museon you can admire the most beautiful discoveries until mid-January 2012.

Please feel free to e-mail any questions or comments about this newsletter to nieuwsbrief@museon.nl

Wildlife photography at Museon Daniel Beltr: Still life in oil

During the winter months you can visit Museon to see some lovely wildlife pictures. Two exhibitions exist presenting the winners:

This year too Museon, in association with the Natural History Museum in London, has had the honour of exhibiting the best pictures of the
Wildlife Photographer of the Year Competition.

If you happen to have some lovely wildlife pictures yourself, well then why not join the Museon Wildlife Photo Community where visitors' pictures occupy centre stage. Here's what you should do (in Dutch).

Holiday activities at MuseonIn het plantenlab

Of course there are lots of fun and interesting activities you can enjoy on your Christmas holiday. If you are a creative person or if you want to find out more about plants, well then how about these activities:

Test your knowledge about plants and win a green prize at the Green Quiz (Quiz je groen) !

At the Plants Lab you can have some superfast experiments. Can plants actually smell? What do bird droppings have to do with seeds? And do carnivorous plants really eat meat?

At the atelier the items are waiting for some creative fun. Build and decorate a lovely sunflower clock, a huge butterfly that can move its wings or a money box shaped like a carnivorous plant.
