Museon manages the most important collection of drawings and objects from the camps set up by the Japanese in World War II in Netherlands East Indies, Burma, Thailand and Japan. The drawings, made by artists famous and unknown, present a varied picture of hard camp life. Various subjects are covered, from faces to themes such as food, children, hygiene, sickness and death. The objects vary from domestic items and embroidery to tools used by convicts, diaries and camp inhabitants.
