Bundenbach fossils are from the slate from the de Hunsrückschiefer of the German Rhine slate hills. The rock originates from the Devonian, 409 to 386 million years ago. This collection is a great example of life in the ocean in that age. In general the Bundenbach fossils have been pyritised. The collection includes trilobites, molluscs, echinoderms and starfishes. Some fossils have been X-rayed.
